Empty conference hall with rows of chairs ready for an event

Event cleaning is one of the last lines on an event budget and one of the first things guests notice if it's missed. Here's how event cleaning services in Manchester are priced, so you can budget properly and compare quotes.

The three parts of event cleaning

1. Pre-event clean

A full clean of the space, washrooms, foyers and back-of-house before set-up or doors. Priced per clean based on venue size — typically £150–£400 for a function room or small hall, more for exhibition halls.

2. Live-event attendants

Uniformed cleaners on site during the event covering washrooms, litter, spillages and bins. Priced per attendant per hour, from £18/hour, usually with a four-hour minimum. A 300-guest evening event typically needs two attendants; a 1,000-guest conference three to four.

3. Post-event clean

Clearing, waste removal, floors, seating, washrooms and reset. Priced per clean from £200 for a function room; large halls and multi-day exhibitions are quoted on the schedule.

What moves the price

  • Guest numbers and duration — more people for longer means more attendants and more waste.
  • Catering and bar — food and drink events generate far more cleaning than a seated conference.
  • Timing — overnight turnarounds and Sunday work carry a premium; a next-morning clean is cheaper if the venue allows it.
  • Waste — volume, segregation requirements and whether the venue's contractor or ours removes it.
  • Venue type — marquees and outdoor sites need litter picking and different equipment; hotels and conference centres have their own standards.
  • Turnaround time — "the next event moves in at 7am" means a bigger team working faster.
  • Extras — carpet or upholstery cleaning after spillages, kitchen cleaning, high-level work.

Worked example

A 250-guest wedding in a Greater Manchester venue, 2pm–midnight, with a sit-down meal and evening bar: two attendants for eight hours (£288), plus a post-event clean of the function room, bar and washrooms starting at midnight with a 9am handover (£350). Total around £640. The same event without attendants, cleaned the following morning, would be roughly £300.
